Reading with a Flight Ring Review - Damned, Cursed Children

Image
"There are times when you think that a genre is dead, done to death and there can be nothing new to be seen.  When you realise that isn’t the case it’s exhilarating to witness because more than likely it’s one of your favourite genres, in this case it’s mine.  So when I started this and realised that this was a black & white book and I saw how the art looks I was intrigued and then as the story unfolds I was like “oh hell no” and with my eyes wide and in something of a shock I kept reading and I was in comic book heaven!"  Read the rest at Reading with a Flight Ring !

"Wong and Stafford know exactly when to pepper in dialogue and when to let the carnage do the talking, and Ng's art is arranged in a perfect black-and-white EC horror tribute style, complete with a good bit of dark wit laced in. It's an impish delight of a first issue, and I'm eager to see what's next." --Matthew Jackson

The Retro Network - The Run In: Hot Tag with Howard Wong and Josh Stafford of Damned Cursed Children

Image
I had a fun time talking about things in the past that influenced us from comics, TV and films on The Retro Network . We even go into the 90s covers and spec markets.  "On today’s episode of the Hot Tag, welcome co-writers of the new comic Damned Cursed Children, Howard Wong and Josh Stafford. Damned Cursed Children debuts this Wednesday January 27 with art by Robin Simon Ng and published by Source Point Press. Josh and Howard discuss their comic book origins and discovering horror movies. Then they tell the history of Damned Cursed Children and what comic book readers can expect from issue one, and the rest of the five-issue series. This conversation was an absolute blast and is a must-listen for fans of comics, horror, and unappreciated pop culture. Damned Cursed Children is a love letter to all of these things and after listening to this interview, you’ll fall in love with the co-writers as well. Be sure to order a copy at your local comic shop, or on Comixology."
